Administration
The principal
supervises the day-to-day activities of the school as staff and
students carry them out, staff member are classified into teaching
and non-teaching. Teachers run extra curricular activities beside
their primary assignment of classroom teaching. Teachers sit on
different committees like welfare and disciplinary committees. The
school has a proprietor. There is the school board known as the
school based management committee. The board formulates policies to
be implemented in the school in line with the national policy of
education. Just as the students are answerable to the statf, so is
the staff to the principal and the principal to the proprietor and
board of the school.

Nature Of
School
The school is
co-educational as boys and girls are admitted. Deaf and dumb, blind
and crippled children whose disabilities are severe are been
provided accommodation to be near school for studies. The primary
school section is purely for disabled children while in the
secondary school section disabled children learn along side with
their nondisabled counterparts to promote integration. Non-disabled
student are however not boarders.
Staffing
The principal
of the school was posted on secondment by the state Teaching Service
Commission. The Hospital Management Board also posted his wife who
is trained staff nurse to the school on secondment. National Youth
Service Corps (NYSC) members are posted to teach in the school
yearly as part of their Nation Youth Service voluntary programme.
Kogi State College of Education, Ankpa post students for teaching
practice for three months each year.

Inspections
Kogi State
Ministry of Education through the Area of Inspector of Education
conducts routine inspections in the school. The school needs to be
successful in meeting up with requirements for having examination
center for award of West African School Certificates (WASC) and
those of the National Examinations Council (NECO)
Boarding
Facilities
At present,
disabled boys and girls live temporarily in the house of the school,
proprietor. As more children with disabilities are brought for the
admission, the need for hostels becomes more crucial.
Classrooms
One block of
four classrooms is currently being provided in the school. Some
pupils have temporal shades for lessons. More classrooms are needed.
