ABOUT
NIGERIA NATIONAL FEDERATION OF THE BLIND
Following the non-existence
of a coherent national organization in Nigeria, Dr. David Matthew
invited some blind persons drawn from many states of the federation for
a meeting which held in Iyale, Kogi State, Nigeria in the month of
August 1990.
Bored by the ceremonial way
and manner the affairs of blind persons were being toyed with in the
country, this organization was formed and incorporated in 2001. Our
motto is: PROGRESS, INDEPENDENCE and EQUALITY.
Since her inception,
The Commonwealth Society for the Blind has sponsored the purchase of
over 200 mobility canes, two Perkins Braillers, Braille paper, some tape
recorders and cassette blanks for usage by member in 1992. The
organization has been sensitizing members, government and the general
public on the needs and aspirations of persons with visual impairments
in Nigeria.
This website helps us develop a global presence and make it easier for
world recognition and philanthropic support. Thanks for browsing through
this site and our sister websites in the
Project Partner's Ministries endeavors. May God bless you richly.
